UI Adapters
An adapter wraps an existing component library, like Mantine, Material UI, or Angular Material, and makes its components use Recursica design tokens.
It also limits what each component accepts to the options the design system allows. A developer or an AI assistant can still build anything, but they can’t quietly restyle a button with a one-off class or inline style.

Benefits of an adapter
- No library switch. Adapters exist for Mantine and Material UI in React, and for Angular Material.
- Stay on brand. Components only take the variants, sizes, and colors the theme defines, so styles can’t leak in from elsewhere.
- Easier for AI. Fewer, simpler props mean an AI assistant gets a page looking right on the first pass more often.
